General Requirements The following information should be considered when applying for the EMT-Basic course through Bell Ambulance. Students are responsible for all costs associated with the course, National Registry exam, books, equipment, and any incidental expenses. Bell Ambulance may be able to provide some tuition assistance to students. Please contact the Human Resources Department for more information and availability. Students must possess a strong work ethic and self-motivation, coupled with the following requirements:
Applicants should be aware the EMT-Basic class requirements include heavy lifting, bending and standing for extended periods of time. A willingness to work long and varied hours is also a must. Classes, Times and Locations Classes follow MATC’s fall and spring semesters. Approximate dates: Fall Semester – August to December **application review begins in early June Spring Semester – January to May **application review begins in early November Classes are offered at two of MATC’s campuses: North (Mequon): 5555 West Highland Road, Mequon, WI 53092-1143 South (Oak Creek): 6665 South Howell Avenue, Oak Creek, WI 53154-1107 Application Process To begin the application process, a standard Bell Ambulance Employment Application must be completed and submitted to the Director of Human Resources. The application can be found online at: Þ Click Employment Sections (near top of screen - tab) Þ Click Ambulance Operations Staff Positions (near center of screen) Þ Click Employment Application Page (near center of screen) Þ Click BELL AMBULANCE Application Form (PDF File) When filling out the application write “EMT Enrollment” in the blank provided after, “Position(s) applied for:” The application should be sent to the attention of the Director of Human Resources via email at HRD@264bell.com or mailed to: BELL AMBULANCE, Inc Once received, the application will be reviewed and prospective students may be invited to participate in an orientation/registration seminar. General Program Information Students selected will be expected to adhere to the following expectations:
The EMT basic course is one semester long, approximately 120-130 hours of work. The students are prepared to take the National Registry exam to become certified EMTs. While the program is not a guarantee of employment at Bell, the company looks to the successful students as a qualified pool of eligible applicants for EMT-Basic positions. Bell Ambulance assists the selected students with registration for the class, offers continued support to the students with additional tutoring, if requested, and opportunities to “ride along” on a Bell Ambulance for observations and additional hands-on experience. Students are financially responsible for all course expenses; however, financial aid and payment plans may be available directly through MATC. |
